Everest view and Rai culture tour

Live an incredible experience like no one else. Adventure Nepal offers you the opportunity to experience real life and culture in a small village in the Rai community at the foot of Mount Everest. This unique stay in the range of our agency offers the possibility of really understanding what life in the mountains in Nepal is. With his joys, his laughters and sometimes his sorrows. You will sleep like members of the Rai community, within their houses on the mountainside. By eating and drinking, exchanging, helping or even teaching a few words of english in the local school of the district of Solu, you will live moments that no tourist in the comfort of his hotel can dream.

Solukhumbu is one of the Eastern-most areas of Nepal and features high altitude mountains. It is well known by trekkers as it is home to Mount Everest and its famous trails let’s go to flash back. The traditional homeland of the Rai extends across the Solukhumbu, the Okhaldhunga, Khotang, Bhojpur and the Udayapur districts in the northeastern hilly/mountainous region of Nepal, west of the Arun River in the Sun Koshi River watershed. Rais are also found in significant numbers in the Indian state of Sikkim and in the northern West Bengal towns of Kalimpong and Darjeeling. According to Nepal’s 2001 census, there are 635,751 Rai in Nepal which represents 2.79% of the total population. The Rai community can be described as worshippers of nature.
